She Did It!

Caitlyn has finished up all of her classes at Columbus Tech and has passed her state boards. She is now a licensed costmetologist!

(That's her all the way on the right . . .)

So, this is the photo you will see on her license certificate when you sit down in her stylist chair . . .

And this is just a little something that Bob & I gave her when we heard the good news . . .
We sell these rhinestone pins at The Shoppe for the serious scrappers.

A shiny, bling~thing for her to wear to work!

Congratulations, Honey! We're proud of you!

S.Y.S.

Save Your Stuff!

Well, I suppose if you're reading scrappy blogs, you probably already know that rule . . don't throw anything away!

For my Valentine's layout here, I used old playing cards that were missing 1/2 the deck.
I stamped on them & embossed them with gold metallic powder.
(if you want to really see the details, just click on the photos!)

I used a King & Queen and the 4 of Hearts represents my four kids.

I did alot of distressing on this page, from painting, sanding, & tearing the matboard frame to tearing the paper and smudging it with gold metallic rubs and dabbing some red ink on the cards.

And considering that I made this layout 8 yrs. ago, this was alot!

I love gold ~ gold anything~ so there's tons of it on this page . . . gold photo corners on the cards, gold wire twisted & looped around, a tiny gold picture hanger on the frame, a gold heart charm & their initials on the small individual photos, and more smudged embossing all around the page's edge.

Last but not least, I added the "LOVE" Page Stone ~ just because.

So . . remember not to throw out those odds and ends. You never know when they might come in handy!

V-Day Treat Basket

Hello Bloggers!

Here is a cute, simple paper basket that I created at The Shoppe yesterday. It's perfect for some treats for your favorite "Sweeties".

If you would like the instructions, you can find them here on The Shoppe's blog.

And here is a really cute card that BoBunny put together:

Thanx for visiting . . . please stop by again soon!

The 1st of Many Projects . . .

OK . . .I finally found a moment to post something on my own blog. I'm always so busy trying to keep up with The Shoppe stuff that I can't seem to find an extra minute for myself.

So today I'm gonna share my mom's birthday card & gift with you . . .

This is one of the cards that Sandy will be teaching in her Card Cluster Class on January 17th. If you bring along specific dates, you'll be able to customize your cards.

And here is her gift . . .

I used Cricut's Storybook cartridge for the lettering and Home Accents for the flowering vines & butterfly. The butterfly's top etched layer is cut from vellum.

Of course, rhinestones are a must for the flower centers!
I posted a similar name frame on The Shoppe's blog earlier under Gift Ideas . . . You can check it out here.
Ok . . .that's it for now.
